Mr. Oden has over 30 years of experience in successful oil and gas exploration, appraisal and development. After starting his career with Suncor in Calgary, primarily in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, he joined BHP Petroleum and progressed through a series of technical and managerial roles on exploration and appraisal project teams that were responsible for material value delivery from offshore basins in Australia, the Gulf of Mexico, Latin America, and West Africa.
In 2005 he joined Gulfsands Petroleum Plc and was appointed Vice President-Exploration, directing exploration and development projects in the US Gulf of Mexico, the Texas Gulf Coast, North Africa, the Middle East, and South America.
Mr. Oden has a strong track record of success both in frontier exploration and, most significantly, in the delivery of substantial new discoveries within relatively mature basins.
In 2017 he co-founded Baja Oil & Gas LLC in Houston, Texas.
